The Illustration Art of Laura Lydecker

Of Mice and Moons…

Laura Lydecker is a children’s book illustrator. She is the great granddaughter of the famous American illustrator Peter Newell. From her childhood, she always knew she wanted to be an artist. She grew up in New England and studied illustration at the Parsons School of Design. Some of the books she has illustrated include City Mouse Country Mouse, The Tooth Fairy, and The Wind in the Willows. Her daughter Charlotte was the subject for many of her paintings while growing up. Laura now lives with her husband in Southern California, in a house on a hill with two cats, a harmonium and a flock of peacocks who visit her every day.
